Mia Turned Two!

Mia is officially two years old! Is it weird that she already seems more mature and independent? I am so excited for all the new stages but it is hard watching her babyness (word?) slip away. It’s hard to think we will never have these seasons again especially where they are so young. In a weird way, I think about it all the time. I REALLY REALLY want time to slow down and I am trying to do my best to savor every moment, I just feel like life is going so fast! I know they say life speeds up when you have kids but this is almost ridiculous lol

I will also say that sometimes getting Mia when she was 18 months can be hard for me. In some ways, I feel like she has been in our lives forever and I can’t remember life before her, in others I am reminded that we weren’t together for a lot of her firsts and I wish I could have been her mom since day one, I love her so much I just wish I had that time. When we first got her I actually struggled a lot with this but now as we gain so many memories and special moments those thoughts drift further away. It’s such a weird feeling though, almost like I’m grieving what we missed? No matter what I am so thankful she is ours now, so this is what I focus on!

I’m not gunna lie we went all out on celebrating Mia this week! She woke up on Thursday to her bedroom floor covered in balloons! You guys, she freaked out, this child was so excited like I have never seen before (totally worth the hour of balloon blowing up and almost passing out 😉 ). She was dancing around her room, tossing the balloons around and told us she wanted music so we could take it to the next level, it was soooo cute I could die!

We had our nanny come and stay with Baby Boy so Tomas and I could give her our undivided attention! We went to LegoLand and she had the time of her life! We actually purchased our tickets through the Children’s Home Society at a discounted rate and part of our ticket purchase went to them (check this out ends 10/30)! We had a blast and it ended with a meltdown when we had to leave. I’m always split on toddler meltdowns like that because I’m so glad it was THAT much fun but then it’s also like really? Now? Needless to say she was exhausted lol!

When we got home Tomas and I went full HGTV on her room (this was her birthday present from us)! We put her to sleep in her brother’s room and completely redecorated her room (including her new toddler bed) while she slept! It was soooo fun and I was so excited to show her everything! When she woke up we did the big reveal and her reaction was so cute. She walked in, scanned the room (a little confused lol) and then had the biggest smile on her face, it’s like she couldn’t believe it! Every time someone comes over she takes them to show them, it is beyond precious!  I can’t wait to show you guys how it looks, I loved how it turned out and it was so fun getting it together for her!

Later that night we had family come over and we had cake and opened some presents. It was the perfect day for our little Mia!

Saturday, we had her Birthday Party! I went with the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme because this girl is OBSESSED. Our Alexa has one feature and it’s playing that song over and over again. Mia has a little dance she does to it and it’s so cute. It’s legit choreographed because she does the same moves in the same order each time haha. I won’t lie, I put a lot of prep into this party but it was so much fun doing it for her.

The whole week was a celebrating whirlwind that was a blast! I am so excited to head into the holidays with the kiddos, this is just the funnest time of year! XO
