The Zoodle Life For Me

I get really excited about random kitchen gadgets. Let’s face it, cooking can be boring. So, to have a kitchen gadget like the zoodler/ spiralizer (sounds dirtier than it is 😉 ) to spice it up from time to time can be helpful! When I told some people that I was super excited for my zoodler to come in the mail, I got the craziest most interesting looks -looking for the shock factor always 😉 . I ordered it on amazon and you can imagine how excited I was to come home and see it on my doorstep (in my mind it was naturally delivered by a drone, which made it even cooler).

Let’s talk zoodles. They’re super easy, fun, they take like 5 minutes and you’re good to go, all of which are things that are music to this girl’s ears. You have heard about how I am a pasta fanatic, but because I cannot have gluten, it can make pasta eating really devastatingly limiting. I could have GF pastas, but they are mostly filled with empty carbs and random chemical crap, so I usually find a way to make my pasta dishes through veggies like my famous Spaghetti Squash and now my zoodles -duh!

The zoodle process is SOOO simple. I bought four medium size zucchinis, cut off the stems, stuck the zuch in the spiralizer and went to town spiraling that ‘ish’. It literally takes 30 seconds per zuch and you are good to go! Kid you not, it felt like I was playing with play dough, except you can REALLY eat this one!

Once all my zucchinis were zoodled -hehe, I put them all in a frying pan with about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (you can use olive) and sautéed for like 10 minutes (or until the consistency that you like). I added a sprinkle of garlic salt for fun-I know I’m crazy like that!

At the end of sautéing, there is usually a bit of water at the bottom of the pan and I usually just drain it out before adding sauce. The sauce I chose this time was pesto (link), but I have made it with afredo and tomato sauce and are all good! You could add meatballs, chicken, ground meat, or whatever. I just added a bit of parm cheese and my friend and I ate all four zuchs combined. I think if we would have added a meat, it would have been more filling and we would have eaten less zoodles-so to each their own 😉 . The nice thing about the spiraler is it has a ton of different blade shapes and sizes, so you can use it to spiral different things like apples and potatoes and stuff like that! It comes with like a bajillon options.

So, go to town zoodling your noodles my friends!
