Colorado Adventures

To say that I have been the worst blogger lately would be a serious understatement. Life has hit unreal levels of crazy but all in the best way! I can’t share all the deets at this moment but I will be able to in a couple of weeks so stay tuned, at that point I know you will all understand! 😉
Sooo on top of the crazy we went to Colorado for a week and had a blast! It was a much needed break for Tomas and I, I am so excited to have added another adventure to our memories.

We arrived in Denver and stayed at the Kimpton (fave hotel) downtown and explored the city. The weather was a-mazing! We walked around and explored all the little shops and just had the best time chatting and catching up. We had a crazy few weeks prior and had barely spent time together so it was so nice to catch up with my best friend!

We went to the best restaurant of our lives called Root Down! OMG I almost can’t even talk about it, it was SOOOOO good! Tomas and I agree it was by far the BEST restaurant we have ever been to, and might have to go to Denver a couple of times a year just for it! If you are ever in the Denver area you HAVE to go!

The next morning we headed out to Boulder which is a city I have been wanting to visit for years. We spent the day on Pearl street and then did some minor hiking at the Flatirons.

That night we drove to Colorado Springs to stay at a hotel that our Hot Air Balloon ride was leaving from early the next morning. We woke up at the crack of dawn and made our way to our ride for the morning. I am not a huge fan of heights at all. I actually hate them but refuse to miss out on experiences because of them so up I went, freaking 4,000 feet in the sky, in a basket, with a giant balloon as the only thing holding me up. I stayed towards the middle of the basket the whole time and consider myself quite the trooper. Of course Tomas was hanging over giving me a heart attack the whole time, but that’s another story.

After the ride we made our way over to the Broadmoor. So one of the reasons we were in Colorado was because Tomas won a trip with his work to the Broadmoor for three days and we just went up a couple of days early on our own to explore. I felt like we didn’t belong at the Broadmoor, it is SUPER sophisticated, like presidents stay there, but it was so much fun.

The next day we went hiking up the steps along waterfalls, again so scary but literally my favorite part of the trip. It was GORGEOUS, I still can’t even deal! Once you make it up all the steps you hike about another 45 minutes to the top of the mountain, it was really amazing!

The following day was more chill, I think we napped in the middle of the day because we had really been nonstop. That night there was a gala with Tomas’ work peeps and Tomas got recognized for an income goal he had accomplished. I am seriously so proud of him and his hard work. I have never met a harder worker in my life and his constant great attitude while he pulls 18 hours day really challenge me. If you guys know Tomas, you know he has one mode, happy, all. the. time. I seriously love him even more then the day I met him 10 years ago. Ok I’ll stop with all the mush.

So that was our trip in a nutshell. I love going on these trips and exploring but I also love my day-to-day life that I was just excited to get back to and I don’t take that for granted for a second.
I’ll try to be a better blogger, thanks to all of you that follow along!
